Who are we?
GLISA Asia Pacific (or GLISA AP) is a membership-based incorporated association for developing and supporting a LGBTI rainbow network for sport, culture and human rights communities in the Asia Pacific region.
What do we do?
GLISA AP is a dynamic and innovative organisation committed to helping to advance the development and well-being of LGBTI people in the Asia Pacific Region.
GLISA AP is the governing body that oversees the delivery every four years of the Asia Pacific Outgames as a signature LGBTI event in the Asia Pacific region, as well as other relevant projects and initiatives.
What are our priorities?
As part of a global movement, GLISA AP is responsible for alignment of Asia Pacific Outgames with the three pillars that uniquely charactarise these events:
- Sport – to compete in sport and strive for our personal best
- Culture – to celebrate and to affirm our lives as LGBTI people through culture, music, dance, drama and the visual arts
- Human Rights – to be in solidarity with each other acknowledging that for many LGBTI people in Asia and the Pacific, there is not the full legal protection under the law nor the enjoyment of equal human rights
What is our mission?
To improve the lives of rainbow communities in Asia and the Pacific through the activities and services we provide.
What is our vision?
Rainbow communities of Asia and the Pacific are strong, united, locally recognised and globally connected.
What are our values?
Participation and Celebration
Respect and Fairness
